Literacy: As part of this unit, we will be reading

the novel Georges Secret to the Universe by


Stephen and Lucy Hawkins. At the start of the
term; children will be looking at poetry, how to
perform it and writing their own poems. Following
this, children will be looking at nonchronological reports about space and the solar
system, which will then enable them to produce
their own non-chronological report. Our final unit
in Literacy, will be newspaper reports where
children will be reporting the first landing on
the moon.

Mathematics: In maths children will be consolidate


the four operations at the start of the term. Then
we will be learning how to tell the time, together
with solving words problems and investigations. To
finish off the term, children will learn about
measure and angles.
Science: In Science, children will be finding out
about Earth in relation to the moon and other
planets in the solar system. They will visit the
schools science lab and work with our Scientist
in Residence to look at moon rocks and carry out
investigations.
