Frederick Douglass

Frederick Douglass is one of the hundreds of heros that lived during the 1800s1900s. In my opinion, he was probably one of the most interesting hero that ever lived
because he went through many obstacles that would of stop others if they tried to do
what he did.

Frederick Douglass was a slave in 1818 and the way he became a slave was
that he was already born into a family that were slaves the people that raised him as a
child was his grand parents and when he was about 5 or 6 he was abandon .Then he
was taken by his owners relative and there he learn how to read ,write ,and how to spell
.Then frederick owner found out that they were teaching him how to do things and so
he told his relatives to stop teaching him how to spell and read because it was
prohibited that you teach your slave how to read and write. After he was caught
learning how to read and write he try to lean himself ,so he gave the kids in the
neighborhood that lived nearby some of his food so that they would teach him how to
read and write atter he was able to buy a book that was going to help him learn he stop
giving the kids food .When he was eighteen he try to escape but he failed then he tried
again when he was twenty years old but this time he was successful and the reason
why he got out was because he faked his identity as a fisherman.

When frederick Douglass came to america he fell in love with a women called
Ann Murray then they had 5 children and their names were Rosetta ,Lewis Henry
,Frederick Douglass Jr. ,Charles Redmond , and Annie Douglass . After he got married
he changed his real name to frederick douglass and thats how he got his name

After a long time being in the u.s. he was starting to give out public speeches
and then he started to grow and grow then he became a popular person and then
people started to follow frederick on his mission to free the slaves and end slavery.

Then abraham lincoln became the president and he help frederick on trying to
end slavery. After a while getting to know each other the civil war was going on and it
was complete chaos. Then after a while Abraham lincoln died and his wife gave
Frederick Douglass his favorite walking stick.

After a long time passed he was a free man because the people in Europe bought him
off his old slave owner and then they let him free and now he was a free man. When he
got back to the u.s he settled back to his house and not that long before he came back
his youngest daughter Annie Douglass died because of a series of strokes. A couple of
years later his wife died and when he found out she died he went into depression for a
whole year. Then his friend came and helped him and then Frederick douglass married
his second wife and her name was Helen pitts. Their marriage wasn't supported by
both of their family but they were supported by their friends.

When frederick douglass attended a meeting that was meant for womens rights
short after he was done giving out his speech he died at his house and there was the
end of his story. Thats why i think that douglass was a great man and that i think he is
one of the best hero that ever lived.
