Objectives:
Upon completion of the course the trainee will be able to:
1.

Define the term hydraulics.

2.

Describe in writing Pascals Law (relationship between pressure


force and area) and Calculate force or area when given required
values (F = P X A).

3.

List the component of basic hydraulic system, including: fluid,


tank, pump, directional valve, relief valve, cylinder, and lines.

4.

State to type of fluid pump including positive displacement and


non-positive.

5.

State the three basic type of pump including gear pump, vane
pump, and piston pump.

6.

List the type of hydraulic valve including directional, flow and


pressure control valve.

7.

List the type of hydraulic actuator, such as: hydraulic motor and
hydraulic cylinder.

8.

State the flow and function of component using a graphic fluid


symbol.

9.

Describe the hydraulic load sensing and pressure compensated


system.

10.

Draw hydraulic circuit using ISO symbol.

11.

Describe the hydraulic system operation of D6H.

Describe the hydraulic contamination control procedures.
