FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE PLEDGE

I solemnly pledge myself before God / and in the presence of
this assembly / to spend my life in purity / and to practice my
profession faithfully./
I will abstain / from whatever is injurious and mischievous/
and will not take nor knowingly administer / any harmful
drug./
I will do all in my power / to maintain and elevate the
standards of my profession,/ and will hold in confidence / all
personal matters committed to my keeping / and all family
knowledge in the presence of my calling./
With loyalty I will endeavour / to work with the health team
/ and devote myself / to the welfare of those committed to
my care./

NURSES PRAYER
Lord Jesus / thank you for coming into this world / to
become our brother./ Through your life/ You showed
compassion for the sick and needy./
Thank you for calling me/ to share Your ministry of healing./
Teach me to receive the sick in your Name,/ and give success
to my efforts / for the Glory of Thy Name./
Help me to overcome every momentary weakness./
Give me strength / to bring joy to the lives of those I serve./
May I be a Christ-like companion for the dying / as they
journey into the joy of your eternal kingdom./
We ask this prayer / through you as our Brother and Guide./
Amen.
