Disadvantages of Tubal ligation


Tubal Ligation is mostly irreversible;
attempts at reversing the procedure is
not always successful and is very
expensive
Minor dtscomtort/patn for a short time
after the operation
If the procedure fails and the tubes
reconnect, there is an increased risk of
a pregnancy occurring outside the
uterus, and emergency surgery may be
necessary.
Problems rarely occur, however damage
to the intestines, bladder or blood vessels
and an operation may be needed to fix it.
Allergic reactions to local anesthesia
may occur in some people.
It Does not protect a woman from
sexually transmitted infections.

week afer the operation
~ A woman should continue to visit her
doctor for normal health services,

breast exams and pap
smears.
You may change your mind about having
the sterilization procedure at any time
before the operation.
You will still get
the same high-quality medical care if you
choose not to have a tubal ligation.

Tubal Ligation is a permanent method of
birth control for women:

How does Tubal Ligation work?

When can it be done?

Tubal ligation is an operation that closes


the tubes between the ovaries and uterus,
thus preventing sperm cells from reaching
the eggs in the woman's body which leads
to pregnancy.

Getting a Tubal Ligation is a family


decision. It can be done anytime when the
woman or Jamily decides that they do not
want to have any more children, or it has
been deemed necessary to the well being of
the woman that she does not become
pregnant.
