Work Experience
February 2011 December 2013 January 2015 - Present
I was responsible for sales and inventory control, basic computer repairs, part installation and technical
support as required. I dealt with a varied clientele on campus and a large portion of my day was spent
working with staff and faculty to address their problems and concerns so that they left satisfied. This holds
especially true if they came in with a negative energy. The General Manager had spent over a decade creating
a reputation across campus for a store that prided itself on its superior custom service - a sentiment I
fervently embodied. Throughout my employment I regularly received very positive feedback to both my
manager and myself as to the quality of service I was giving and the level of detail and attention I paid when
listening to a clients concern or addressing an issue.

As a supervisor I oversee between 27-33 wait staff and approximately 10 full time bartenders, many of whom
are much older than myself. Over the last 10 months I have had to learn quickly as I was responsible for
interviewing and hiring new staff, liaising between departments and organizing private functions or large
meals for as many as 900 people. Every day I am expected to lead while maintaining my role as a team
member in a larger operation. The expectation is that Im able to problem-solve and keep clients delighted
and returning for more business. The majority of our clientele are large conference groups that have everchanging needs that require adaptation and quick thinking. As a member of the F&B management team I am
the face of the company and Im expected to comfortably host CEOs, Oil Executives, Accounting/Law firms
and Scientists from around the world.
The Banff Centre

June 2013 - September 2013

Hired for the 2013 summer season, I provided technical support for 60+ live music shows in a row. I worked
on a small crew of four and was expected to set up, manage and then tear down the stage every night. The
Butchart Gardens is a world-renowned attraction which is marketed to an international audience. As such, it
tasks its staff to provide the highest level of customer service in order to provide a superb visitor experience.
It applies this standard especially to staff-members who are always present in the public eye onstage or
greeting and interacting with performers. I learned an old world decorum there, and gained valuable insight
into dealing with well-known personalities, and from working in an arena where its not over till its over.
