military as an option because Ive had other interests.
2. If yes, what branch are you thinking about?
If no, why have you not considered the military?
I have not considered the military because I dont want to be away for a long time without
seeing family or friends also I have interest in psychology.
3. From what sources have you built your opinion on military careers? (Family, friends, TV shows,
news, etc.) I have built my opinion on military careers from my parents because they were in
the arm forces. One of them completed their time successfully in the Army and the other in

Part III Response

4. Which of the 3 military jobs would you like best? Why?
One of the jobs that caught my interest was I would like to be a medical service corps officer
because it is something that interest me which is psychology and being in the army gives you
compensation such as housing, medical, food, and special pay. Also there are education
benefits such as scholarships, a change of getting full tuition paid for, a stipend for living
expenses, and allowances for book fees.
5. Did you know that this job existed before? Or, are you surprised that it exists?
Yes I was surprised that it existed with the Army because I knew the army provided other jobs
but I never thought about what kind of jobs and options the Army provides.
6. Now that youve looked into this career, do you think it might be a good option for you? Weigh
the pros and cons of military service, government benefits, and being able to transition into a
civilian career with the other paths to the career (usually college). The pros of choosing a
carry in the military are that the army helps you out financially, provides food and a place to
stay, even after the army there are programs that will help you. If you were in the army you
can almost guarantee yourself a job, a place to live, and a safe future meaning not in debt or
having no place to stay. The cons of choosing a job in the military are that you have to sign
away a certain amount of time and anything can happen between that time. Also you are out
of the loop from your family and friends and your life has to almost be put on hold until you
have completed all your time. I think the Army would be great to join and theres many
interesting careers that I didnt know about such as a criminal investigation special agent.
However, I dont think the Army is a place for me I would rather go to college first and be able
to see family and friends and not miss out on all the things there is to do after graduating
high school.
