Database Administrators (DBAS) setup databases for companies
and they make sure that the database runs efficiently and it is
organized
DBAs have to make sure the database is organized and efficient
while also making sure that the information stored in the database is
safe and secure so it doesnt get into the wrong hands
Database Admins are usually good at problem solving because they
have to keep the database fine tuned and efficient and they have to
work good under pressure since they usually have to be ready
whenever they are needed and work long hours. They also need
communication skills since they will need assistance by computer
programmer teams.
Earning Potential
In Canada a Database Administrator that is just starting out
makes on average 41 thousand a year and senior Admins
make upto 90 thousand a year
The average Database Administrator will make around 65
thousand a year
