Abbott, Jacob. Alexander the Great. (New York: Harper & Bros., 1876.) Print.
This book provided me with a lot of information into the conquests and
battles that Alexander the Great fought and lots of details about what was going on
at the time, in and around the places he was going to conquer. The main purpose of
this book was to give to a thorough description of Alexanders life to. Though all the
detail it includes can be helpful in some areas it is also extremely time consuming,
considering some of the information provided is not relevant to Alexanders life.

This website focused mostly on the overall summary of Alexanders life. I was
able to gather important facts about the overall life of Alexander the Great from this
site. The fact the site focuses on the significant aspects of Alexanders life is
helpful, and the simplicity of the site makes it easier to gather information.

This website provided me with a great amount of material on the journey
Alexander takes to subdue his empire after his father dies. The website itself
focuses on all the places Alexander traveled to conquer, his death, and the empire
after his death. I thought it was helpful that it focused on this part of Alexanders
life, and not really on his childhood.

This site contained ample information on people Alexander had put to death
or killed for one reason or another. The website gave me good material on the man
who tried to kill Alexanders father and the man who tried to kill Alexander at one
point. It also went on to tell about all the land Alexander had conquered before his
death and the legacy he left behind.

This website provided me more information on Alexanders death and gave
me details about some of his campaigns. The site covered Alexanders youth, his
early campaigns, his armys mutiny, and his death. I liked that this site went more
into the mutiny that his army put on at one point in his campaign against Persia.

Nardo, Don. Philip II and Alexander the Great: Unify Greece in World History.
(Berkeley Heights, NJ, USA: Enslow, 2000.) Print.
In addition to providing me some information on Alexander this book also
provided me with lots of material on his father, Philip II. This was helpful because it
provided me with some background on the person who raised and shared the same
blood as Alexander. The book also talks about the visions for the world that both
father and son shared and how they went on to accomplish some of these dreams.
Maidment, Kenneth. Life of Alexander. (Auckland: Auckland UP, 1971.) Print.
Though it can be a little bit of a difficult read at times, this source provided
me with a lot more detail into Alexanders personality, what drove him, what he was
like growing up and what he was like later in his life. This book goes into some detail
of Alexanders life, but its main purpose is to give you an overview of Alexanders
life and his accomplishments. Even though this book was translated in 1971 it was
written by Plutarch almost 400 years after Alexander the Great had died, and even
if it cannot be considered a primary source it was very well written and Plutarch
definitely did his research.
