DBQ Exercise

Task: Working both individually and in groups, we will discuss several

social and economic issues in early modern Europe, specifically the effects
of the major movements we have studied this fall.

Part I (15 minutes): Read and annotate your DBQ. Treat it like you would a
written DBQ in that you should group the documents, identify a thesis
statement
Part II: (30 minutes): In your groups, discuss your findings and come to
consensus on what you think the best answers to the question are.
Additionally, you should discuss the following question:
- In what ways (if at all) did the Renaissance, Reformation, Age of
Religious Warfare, Scientific Revolution, and Enlightenment
contribute to the developments you saw in your particular area?
Point to specific events, ideas, and/or attitudes which prove your
point.
Part III (15 minutes): In your group, develop a mini-presentation of NO
MORE than 5 minutes which relays the answer to the question your were
pursuing as well as the effects of the movements mentioned in Part II.
Part IV (30 minutes): We will hear presentations and have general
discussion.
