WP Key Terms Document Assessment

List all of the key terms and a definition / explanation of your understanding of
each of the terms
Your finished product should not only include the definitions/explanations but also
demonstrate your understanding and ability to use the various tools available in
word processing, for example:
page numbers

margins, line spacing

headers/footers

inserting & formatting images

bullet/numbered lists

borders

font attributes

etc., etc., etc.,

1. Insertion Point- the insertion


point is where the start of your
content will be placed.
2. Word Wrap- Word wrapping is
something that will allow you to
format text around a picture so
the picture does not interfere
with the other content.
3. Backspace- Backspace is a key
that allows you to delete
something you have written.
4. Delete- allows you to delete
any type of content you
choose.
5. Template- template is a preset
layout for your content.
6. Placeholder Text- Text that
serves as a basic idea until it is

replaced with your own ideas or


removed completely.
7. Alignment- Alignment is how
your text is placed on the page
for example, left, center, right,
and justify.
8. Font- Font is basically just gives
letters a different look or style
to them.
9. Serif- Serif font is a type of font
with things called tails on the
ends of them. (Example)

Sans Serif- Sans Serif font
is just basic font with no tails
on them.

Scrip- Is a font type that
looks like someones
handwriting.

Baseline- Is where the
text sits on a line.

Superscript-Superscript
makes the text smaller and
moves to the upper right.

Subscript- Subscript
makes the text smaller and
moves it lower.

Hanging Indent- A
hanging indent is a type of
indent used in paragraphs

Format Painter- Can copy
formats from other documents.

Margin- Margin is the
space from the side of the page
to your content.

Drag and Drop- is a
function that allows you to
move content to another part
of the document.

Outline View- Outline
view displays all of the content
and allows you to be more
precise.

outline) - Increases your indent.

allows you to search for other
