The Beta Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha

Phi Alpha hosted its annual New Years
Eve Banquet on December 31st, 2014. This
was an opportunity for brothers, wives,
and friends to celebrate the joys of 2014
and welcome in 2015. Guests were provided with food & live music courtesty of
Bro. Richard Lewis. During the night
President Everett Dudley presented PastPresident Roger McDougal with an
award for his service as President from
2012 2014. The night was topped off with
a New Years Day champagne toast.
Thanks goes to Bro Samuel Vaughn and
Bro. Rodney Shepard for spearheading
this event and making it a success.

needs every financial member
to participate in order for us
to be successful.

Men of Honor
The Men of Honor program is
Beta Theta Lambdas additional
program that is an extension
of the fraternitys Go To High
School, Go To College. We
work with students from Eno
Valley Elementary and we
work on building confidence
and tutoring with the students.
In addition we educate the
young boys on a special topic.

Recently, the chapter has been

teaching the boys how to play
chess. Bro. Rodney Shepard
and Bro Everett Dudley have
been spearheading the efforts
at Eno Valley. If brothers are
desiring to participate, you can
see one of them for more
information .

A Moment In Alpha History: The Transition of our Beloved Brothers

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
mourns the lost of Brother Stuart
Scott (MZ 84), was an American
sportscaster and anchor on ESPN.
He was giant in the sports world
and respected by many. He entered
the Chapter on 01/04/15. Rest
well in our "Sweet Chapter of Rest".

Brother Edward William Brooke III

(Beta 37), became the first AfricanAmerican popularly elected to the
United States Senate, which no
other senator of African descent
was elected until 1993. He entered
the Chapter on 01/03/15. Rest

College Round-Up (NCCU/DUKE/UNC)

The Brothers of the Mu Zeta chapter at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
recently held their annual Martin Luther
King Unity Dinner. This was an opportunity
for students of different races, sexes, and
backgrounds to come together under the ideals of Dr. King, non-violence and equality.
