Next Meeting Thursday, February 18th 6:00 p.m.


CALLING ALL RETIRED MEMBERS!!! We want to hear from you! How
are you spending your retirement? Are you substitute teaching? Do
you volunteer? Share your time, ideas, and experiences, with your
sisters, at our February meeting.
The next few months are exciting ones in Delta Xi! March is our
community arts outing. Be ready to give suggestions on where we
should go We will be initiating at least one new member in April,
awarding our Grant-in-Aid, and installing new officers for the next
biennium! You dont want to miss the April meeting! In May, Delta Xi
is hosting Founders Day. Well be setting the table for a beautiful
English tea and, together with other local chapters, honor of the
female leader educators who became Delta Kappa Gamma!

International Convention is in Nashville this year and we want as
many sisters, as possible, there to represent Delta Xi! Make plans
to attend July 5-9.

As members of The Society, we have agreed to be loyal to and to


actively support the Seven Purposes upon which Dr. Annie Webb
Blanton founded the organization in 1929.
The purposes of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International shall
be:

1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship;


2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of
education;
3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in education;
4. To initiate, endorse, and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interest of
education and of women educators;
5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant
fellowships to non-member women educators;
6. To stimulate the personal professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in
appropriate programs of action; and,
7. To inform members of current economic, social, political, and educational issues so that they may
participate effectively in a world society.
