Next Meeting - Thursday, September 18th, 5:30
PM
Welcome to a new biennium! Our first meeting of the year will
be on September 18th, at Springhill Baptist Church, in the
Fireside Room. We will have light refreshments and talk about
plans for our busy year We will also have a small white
elephant sale to help fund our Grant-in-Aid. So, find
something cute from around the house to donate to the sale.
I look forward to seeing you all on the 18th!

Membership Dues
Dont forget to bring your check for dues ($70) to the first meeting.
You may also send them directly to Mary Sheffield, our Treasurer, at
Council Traditional School.

Laura Sergeant (2208 Fieldstone Court, Mobile, 36695). It will be
covered dish, so bring something yummy for us all to share. Our
guest that evening will be from the Exploreum Museum.

Purposes of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society


International
As members of The Society, we have agreed to be loyal to and to
actively support the Seven Purposes upon which Dr. Annie Webb
Blanton founded the organization in 1929.
The purposes of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International shall
be:
1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual
fellowship;
2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for
distinctive service in any field of education;

3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in


education;
4. To initiate, endorse, and support desirable legislation or other suitable
endeavors in the interest of education and of women educators;
5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in
pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-member
women educators;
6. To stimulate the personal professional growth of members and to
encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action; and,
7. To inform members of current economic, social, political, and
educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world
society.
