VI.LEARNING ACTIVITIES Activity

1. Reflective Writing My Globalization Story (35 Points)  Use the illustration below to conceptualize
your globalization story.

What is globalization? Globalization refers to the global interconnection of humans and enterprises,
which subsequently results in cultural, political, and financial integration. It is the ability to
transport the world over and engage resultseasily with others as a way to behavior global
business. What is the history of globalization ? Humans have been seeking remote locations to settle,
produce, and trade products since the dawn of time, thanks to advancements in technology and
transportation. Global integration didn't take off until the nineteenth century.

That first "wave" of globalization was powered by steamships, railroads, the telegraph, and other
technological developments, as well as increased economic cooperation among countries, following
centuries of European colonization and trade activity.

After the disaster of World War I, the globalization trend weakened and fell, followed by postwar
protectionism, the Great Depression, and World War II. Following World War II in the mid-1940s, the US
spearheaded attempts to resurrect international commerce and investment under established ground
rules, kicking off a second wave of globalization that is still going strong, despite periodic downturns and
increasing political scrutiny.
Why Globalization is important? GLOBALIZATION is an important concept for all people because
everyone has the capability to promote business and industry because it have the ability to make big
profits working globally due to the rising demand in the high tech industry around the world.
Furthermore, the world faces global challenges that will require interdisciplinary teams to address,
such as ensuring that everyone on the planet has access to clean water and making clean
renewable energy cheap, to mention a few. On a global scale, these global concerns will require the
gathering and sharing of knowledge across disciplines, institutions, and other entities institutions. to
put it simply, is the process by which people and products travel freely across boundaries. It's mostly an
economic notion — the integration of markets, commerce, and investment with few impediments to stifle
the flow of goods and services across countries.

Globalization and mass media

Everyone’s life is influenced by everyone else. Globalization of mass media has had a dramatic influence
on in many cultures. One need not visit or live in a certain part of the world to emulate or adopt style,
behavior , or traditions of another culture . the stronger that global ties becomes between various culture
the more interdependent they become.

Globalization and entertainment

The cross cultural availability of music, movies, books, and other forms of entertainment has had dramatic
effects on many societies and culture. Artists from different countries can collaborate through many
means of communications: internet , satellite feed, etc. to produce music that has an international blend
or fair. This new music can influence moods and behaviors. Stimulation from sales can effectively change
an individuals financial situation, which could change their whole social dynamic.

Globalism and international tourism and travel

Many years ago the majority of people traveled of necessity and not recreation, because of the related
expense, hassle, and danger involved. With the modernization of travel people can virtually come and go
as they pleas. Traveling brings about the socialization and societal interaction. Friendships, business,
and familial alliances can be the result. This facet of globalization can have dramatic economic influence,
which can change people live dramatically. Travel brings people together . the result of these encounters
can be either positive or negative. Either way globalization provides medium for such changes and the
experiences can enrich a person and bring cultural awareness to the forefront.
