Whats happening in class?

Reading:
This week we are listening to The Mysteries of the Cabala by Isaac Bashevis Singer. We will be
asking questions and making connections. The students will complete an inquiry log this week.
Inquiry Log - due Wednesday
Vocabulary - due Wednesday
Students were given reading assignments and a Lit. Circle assignment. They are due on Friday.

Writing: Students are beginning a literary essay. We have begun brainstorming novels and
topics for this essay.
Grammar: pronouns; quiz on Friday

Social Studies:
Students are beginning a new unit.

February 24: Community

Science:

March 18-19: Conferences

Group C: structure of the Earth/magnetism

Group A: fossils/rock cycle

Group B: cells/DNA

Mathematics:
Group A: ratios, rational numbers, equivalence
Group B: rational numbers
Group C: variability and associations in numerical data
Expo: students should be working on their final drafts (we

edited and revised last week) and their visuals. They are also
working on their timelines.

Immersion Week:
More details will follow, but so far we have planned a trip to
Oak Crest, Jumping Jupiter, and Starlite Lanes.
We will need supplies for the craft we are doing with the
residents at Oak Crest. I will let you know by next week!
