February 6th, 2015. A new Mainstreet Technologies poll of 3,022 Ontarians finds 67% want child
care facilities to refuse unvaccinated children. The poll carries an overall margin of error of
+/- 1.78%, 19/20.
"58% of residents dont believe parents should have a say in whether their children are
vaccinated or not, said Quito Maggi, President of Mainstreet Technologies. "Those numbers
dont surprise me with the amount of coverage measles has been receiving in the news.
Ontarians are mostly supportive of Ontarios policy to ensure children in school are vaccinated
but they are even more supportive of child care facilities refusing unvaccinated children - 60%
support the measure and that rises to 67% of decided residents."
30% say parents should be able to decide against vaccinating their children.
53% agree schools should turn away unvaccinated children.
20% agree vaccines could cause autism, 19% neither agree or disagree with the statement.
60% agree serious health impacts loom if children are not vaccinated.
"Whats concerning is 20% of residents agree vaccines could cause autism, and that 15% dont
believe lower immunizations rates will cause serious health problems. There are many children
who cannot be immunized and who are depending on herd immunity for their well-being,
finished Maggi.
