COURSE TITLE: Life and Works of Rizal
I. Course Description & Objectives
A study of the life of Dr. Jose Rizal, national hero and martyr, and of his important works, particularly the
"Noli Me Tangere" and the "El Filibusterismo" in their unexpurgated editions.
At the end of the course, the student is expected to:
1. Understand the life, works and writings of Rizal particularly his moral and intellectual legacies to the
Filipino youth.
2. Know the relevance of Rizal's teachings to contemporary situations.
3. Gain inspiration and insight from the experince of Rizal as a son, student, patriot and nationalist.
4. Imbibe the spirit of patriotism and nationalism.
