Travel planning
o Which Volvo locations in Sweden?
Braas and ESK
BTH will rent cars for travel within Sweden
o Still planning on getting to Germany evening 3/18
o Martin will join us in Braas after Germany
o We will be booking hotels this week
o BTH will book hotel in ESK
FUNK-tional Prototype Stanford
o Same modular storage container
o Made base with large caster wheels to slide over debris on job sites
o Track door with gate latches to automatically empty over dumpster
o Cantilever over dumpster with inclines to flip switch for door
o Some minor design flaws with gate latches and wheels jamming on
sides of track
o Working this afternoon to make some changes to get full functionality
FUNK-tional Prototype BTH
o Built same shape but smaller as Stanford Dark Horse
o Screw inside that pushes material out of shoot like auger
o Archimedes screw principle
o Installed as base plate into storage container
o Had to push material into pipe because jammed
o Auger manually turned
o Either make opening larger or put auger at larger angle to reduce
clogging
Functional System Design
o Modular system with add-ins (e.g. auger, base, security etc.)
o Looking at ways to manually remove the material (release mechanism)
Dont waste the decreased entropy
Load right into truck or hole
o How to actually manufacture these panels
o Look into coal storage, silos, combine harvesters
o How does storage fit into the whole system?
Martin will not be joining next week
