Exhibit Details
ACTion Art is an exhibit that is uniquely designed to assist adult
artists with disabilities to show their art in a professional
gallery format, and to market and sell their work in the larger
community.

Artists are invited to submit a work of art in any medium, to be

showcased in the ACTion Art exhibit, March 3-7, 2015, at the
Grand Rapids Art Museum.
To be considered, artists must register by 5 pm on Friday,
February 20, 2015 and artwork entries must be delivered to ACT
(1140 Monroe Ave NW, Suite 4101, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) no
later than 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
All registered entries are accepted, subject to the ACTion Art
Guidelines. No entry fee is required.

The following awards will be given away during ACTion Art!
Jurors Choice $300 cash prize
Three artists, selected by a juried vote, will receive a $300 cash prize
and will move forward to compete in ArtPrize 2015 in Grand Rapids,
Michigan, as ACTion ArtPrize artists.*
Peoples Choice $100 cash prize OR 2 Free ACT Classes
One artist will receive this award at the end of ACTion Art, with public
voting taking place throughout the exhibit. The winner will get to
choose between $100 cash prize or two free 10-week ACT Adult Art
classes of the winners choice, valued at $150.
*ArtPrize is a radically open art competition, giving away the world's
largest art prize. ArtPrize runs September 23 through October 11, 2015
in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. For more information visit

the art community will kick-off the mornings

By submitting an entry to ACTion Art, a program of Artists Creating Together (ACT), you agree to be legally bound by these
terms and conditions as well as the terms and conditions of the Official Rules for Artists ArtPrize. If you do not agree to
these terms and conditions, do not submit an entry to this exhibit.

You are invited to submit one artwork entry. This could be one piece of artwork, or one artwork series.

You must submit a registration form by 5 pm on Friday, February 20, 2015.

Your artwork must be delivered to ACT (1140 Monroe Ave NW, Suite 4101; Grand Rapids, MI, 49503) by 4:30 pm on
Thursday, February 26, 2015 (see artwork drop-off dates and times below).

You must be at least 18 years of age by Friday, February 20, 2015.

Your artwork must be original and completed within three years prior to September 23, 2015.

Your artwork must be framed and ready to hang or display.

Your artwork size must not exceed 5 x 5 ft., unless otherwise approved by ACT.

You are invited to sell your artwork during the exhibit. If your piece wins a Jurors Choice Award, the purchaser would
not receive the purchased piece until after ArtPrize 2015.

Three artists will receive the Jurors Choice award and will be entered into ArtPrize 2015 as the ACTion ArtPrize Artists.
Winners will be selected by an expert jury panel to represent ACT.

All artwork eligible for a Jurors Choice award is subject to the Official Rules for Artists- ArtPrize. These official rules can
be found on the ArtPrize website at www.artprize.org.

The three ACTion ArtPrize artists will retain ownership of their artwork (unless sold), subject to the rules and
restrictions of ArtPrize 2015. The Artists agree to make themselves and their artwork available to ACT and other
partnering agencies and sponsors prior to and during ArtPrize for promotions and marketing efforts.

ACTion ArtPrize artists agree that if their artwork wins any ArtPrize award, they will donate 10% of any award to ACT to
support arts programs for people with disabilities in the greater Grand Rapids area.

Winners of the Jurors Choice award will be announced by ACT on Thursday, March 5, 2015 during the Artist
Reception and will be entered into ArtPrize 2015.

There are no restrictions on other artists who are not winners of the award from entering ArtPrize on their own.

The 2014 ACTion ArtPrize artists will NOT be eligible for the Jurors Choice award in ACTion Art 2015, but they are
welcome to display their past winning piece or enter a new piece in the exhibit.

You must complete and submit the included Artist Registration form by 5:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2015 to be considered for the exhibit. Send your Artist Registration form to ACT by e-mail at coordinator@artistscreatingtogether.org or by
mail at 1140 Monroe Ave NW, Suite, 4101, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

Your completed artwork must be mailed to ACT by 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 26, 2015, or delivered to ACT

Three winners will be selected by a jury based on the following criteria: originality, craftsmanship, elements of art,
composition, unity & variety, medium & texture, use of space, and presentation.

Winners will receive a cash prize of $300. Prize money will be mailed to winning artists after ACTion Art 2015.

Winners will be announced on Thursday, March 5, 2015, during the ACTion Art Artist Reception.

Winners will be entered into ArtPrize 2015 individually, with all applicable ArtPrize 2015 entry fees paid for by ACT.

ACT will work with award winners to create artist statements, press releases and other relevant marketing
materials as the ACTion ArtPrize artists and as ArtPrize 2015 contestants. After ArtPrize 2015, artists will retain
ownership of their individual artist statements and other marketing materials.

ACT will secure a venue for the award winning artists for ArtPrize 2015. ACT will also pay for appropriate insurance
coverage for the artwork during ArtPrize 2015, from September 23 through October 11, 2015.

One winner will be selected by a public vote taking place during the exhibit, March 3-7, 2015.

Winner will be announced and notified by Monday, March 9, 2015.

Winner will get to choose between a cash prize of $100 or two free 10-week ACT Adult Art classes of the
winners choice, valued at $150. Classes are available year-round, in both visual and non-visual arts. They are
taught by professional teaching artists and are held at ACT.

Artists Creating Together (ACT) is a non-profit arts

organization that brings children, youth and adults with
disabilities together with artists and art projects. ACT programs
span all art genres from dance, music and drama to all visual
art forms. Annually, ACT helps over 6,000 individuals celebrate,
succeed and grow through art. ACT programs can be found in
schools, hospitals and other community venues throughout
West Michigan. ACT has been serving the people of our
communities since 1986.

This signed Artist Registration form constitutes artist and guardian permission for ACT to have perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge,
royalty-fee, irrevocable right to use, reproduce, display, and redistribute my Artwork, with or without modifications, subject to the following
conditions:
(i) Artwork may be used by ACT for educational, curatorial, informational, documentary, publicity and archival purposes related to ACT
purposes, in any media now known or not yet invented;
(ii) I am entitled to credit in all Artwork in which full artists credits are given. Ads, however, shall be exempt from this provision. I recognize that
ACT shall use reasonable efforts to ensure compliance with the crediting provisions and the failure to properly credit me shall not be considered
a material violation of this agreement.
