Gregg Alan Bitondo was a three-sport varsity athlete at Kianny Regional High School. He

points. A%er excelling in youth baseball, Gregg joined his big brother, Bryan, on the KRHS golf

team.

Gregg died tragically on May 11, 1999. He was a seventeen year-old high school junior. He died
doing what he loved having fun, being with friends and stretching his physical limits. Gregg
Bitondo Memorial Scholarship Award programs have been set up to memorialize Greggs
passion for life and for athlecs and to recognize those student-athletes whose determinaon
and leadership matches that of Gregg.
The Annual Gregg Bitondo Memorial Scholarship Golf Oung will contribute to the perpetuity

of the scholarships, awarded annually at the MacKinnon Middle School in Wharton, where
Greggs dad, Rick, was the Superintendent; at Newton High School, the district in which Bryan
teaches and coaches, and at Kianny Regional High School, where Greggs sister, Dana,

teaches.

Carly Kandels passion for athlec compeon was
fueled by her ever-presence on the sidelines at football,

Ben Cramer Newton High School - $2000 Scholarship

Benjamin Cramer, a 2014 graduate of Newton High

School, excelled on the football gridiron and baseball
diamond, earning six varsity leers. During the
Braves 2013 football season, Ben carried the Braves
all the way to their rst playo trip since 2000. In
only eight games, he rushed for over 1,000 yards and
11 touchdowns, threw for a TD and scored a safety.
He led the team as a captain and earned several
awards, including team MVP, NJAC rst team and New Jersey Herald rst
team. His leadership and determinaon were vital to the teams success.
Prior to his freshman season, Ben set a goal to return pride and
respectability to Newton Football. By leading his team to two hard-fought
victories over arch-rival Lenape Valley and into the state seminals, he
certainly accomplished his goal. Ben also led the Newton Brave baseball
team into the state playos. During his senior year, his .378 ba"ng
average, 17 steals and 24 runs earned him the recognion as both NJAC &
NJ Herald rst team center elder. In the fall, Ben will aend CarsonNewman University in Tennessee, where he will major in criminal jusce
and connue his baseball career. Bens athlec performance and his
character epitomize the scholarship award in Greggs memory and
establish a strong foundaon for future success.
