EL Extend & Enrich - UNIT 2

Choose an extension activity to work on when you finish your class work.
1. Write a fictional story about transportation in the future using the RAFT
format. Research the town on the following web pages to get ideas for
characters, scenes, plot and details.
Some ideas for your role are: a person who works as a hover train
conductor, the mayor of a town that hasnt updated their
transportation and is considered outdated because of the pollution
and primitive methods, an inventor who created a new kind of
transportation that has zero emissions and is quick and efficient for
San Francisco.

2. Research Elon Musk, the owner of the Tesla electric car company and space
travel company, Space X.

Try to answer some of the following questions:

Who is Elon Musk?

How did he become so involved in green transportation and space exploration?
What is he trying to do?
Do you think he will be able to accomplish his goals? Why/why not?
What is the most interesting thing you read about him?

3. Design a game that incorporates alternative energy transportation in cities.

It could be a card game or board game. Before you begin, think about what
is good about green travel and what could be tough (cost). Use examples
we learned about, like Uber and Google bus, to inspire you.
