Lesson Plan?

Name: Mr. Campos

Date: 2/6/15
Subject: spelling
Observer: Ms. Gouveia
Not all standards will be observed during every observation. Complete appropriate standards only.
Things that are going well
3,2,1 so they stay together as they spell
words, this helps for them to hear, see, and
say as word is
Checking student work as you walked around
You can tell you have a good rapport with
students by the way they react to you when
they have to redo

Things to think about

Just and idea for students to assess
themselves. After student writes word on
board have other students give nonverbal
clue to see if they agree or disagree with
spelling.
Yellow or green choiceHave them say it
one time, then stop then you wont have to
worry about getting them to quiet down
again.

Students know routine and expectations

Redirected students positively with
expectations saying that you would call on
quiet students.

As you read the poem, you had some

students doing other things, read one line,
have them repeat it, giving a sign to you
when they come to long e sound word.

Reminded them of spelling rules to correct

any misconceptions students may have of
patterns

Be careful to say long e with patterns we are

using because monkey does have long e
sound.

Various attention getters

Good transition between lesson and centersagain students knew what they should be
doing.
Good classroom management
Scanned other students while working with
your group, you knew the book well enough
that you knew the word the students
struggled with when they came to it and
could help them while you directed other
students in centers
Good flashcard strategy (tap, your turn,
everybody)
