    The second grade class at Granite preschool will be presenting the play "Who Took the Farmer's Hat?" on February 16th and 17th. This play will conclude their project on plants, which involved experiments on how plants grow. The class read the story and asked to act it out, finding it fun. They have been practicing and are ready to perform for parents. Students are assigned to groups performing on either the 16th or 17th and simple home-made costumes are suggested using materials like old hats, bird feathers, or goat horns made from paper.

    Second grade of preschool, Granite, is glad to announce the


    presentation of the play Who took the farmers hat?
    This play will wrap and close our project about plants.
    The Project began with a question: How do plants grow?
    To answer this question we made different experiments, we planted seeds and we saw
    how to grow a pumpkin without taking the seeds out of it. Then, as the months went by,
    we began talking about the farm and we read the story: Who took the farmers hat?
    That day the kids asked me if they could act the story out and we did it. It was so much
    fun and a beautiful interest in presenting this play began to rise in the group.
    We practiced and now we are ready to share it. We invite you next Monday and
    Tuesday, February 16th and 17th , from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.
    Find your childs name and come on the day when he/she will act this story for you:
    Monday 16th: Group A: Isabela, Bruno, Patricio, Elih, Paolo, Luis Antonio, Julieta, Elas
    and Suri.
    Tuesday 17th: Group B:
    Azael, Paulo, Genevieve, Sofa, (and) Ximena, Matteo,
    Sebastin, Carmina and Santiago.
    Please create a simple costume for your child using material you have at home and
    make sure not to cover their mouth. The characters are:
    Isabela: mouse
    Bruno: goat
    Patricio: squirrel
    Elih: old hat
    Paolo: bird
    Luis Antonio: squirrel

    Julieta: duck
    Elas: farmer
    Suri: bird
    Azael: fly
    Paulo: duck
    Genevieve: fly
    Sofa: bird

    Ximena: goat
    Matteo: bird
    Sebastin: new hat
    Carmina: wind
    Santiago: mouse

    Here are some ideas for the costumes:
