Genesis 17:15-16
God said to Abraham, "As for Sarah your wife, you shall not call her Sarai, but Sarah shall be her
name. I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she shall give
rise to nations; kings of peoples shall come from her."

These verses relate to the transition of Sarai to Sarah. She goes from being a princess to being
the princess. She will be the matriarch of Kings. What an honor and privilege.
When I read these verses, though, what leapt out at me was change. By changing her name, it
affected the lives of millions. It offers hope to me, that I might have the opportunity to do the
same, and thus affect those who know me. By demonstrating in my everyday life, of how I live
that life according to the teachings of Jesus, I might become an agent of change within the lives
of my family, friends, and co-workers. This will hopefully continue to pay forward, whereby
they will change the lives of those they are in contact with, and so forth. Change is good,
especially when it improves the lives of those who are touched by it. It becomes a true blessing
from God.
Holy Creator, make me an agent of change, that I might improve the lives of those around me
whom I love. I ask this through your Son, Jesus the Christ. Amen.
