In what way does this movie deal with microbiology?

This movie deals with America being infected by a deadly virus (an experiment gone bad).

Will Smith is a scientist and he comes up with an antidote for the virus.
2. How did the main character manage to not be effected by the disease?
He made sure to cover his tracks with a solution that didnt allow the infected to detect any
humans. He was also able to create an anti-serum that was related to his scientific background.
3. What was the vector of the disease?
The vector was a drug antidote used to cure cancer.
4. What was the resolution of the film?
In the conclusion, Will Smith gave the anti-serum to a woman who then gave it to the survivors
that were hiding in another part of the world.
5. In what ways is the vector transmitted?
Being bitten by another infected individual.
