CONTAGION MOVIE REVIEW by

The title “Contagion” refers to a contagious disease. Contagion is a type of
movie which is based on scientific facts such as contagious disease which can
spread from one person to another. If we analyze the movie then we come to
know that the disease spreads rapidly in a population. It is about the efforts and
struggle that world adapts to ward off the pandemic disease.

"Steven Soderborg" is the director of the movie “Contagion”. He is an

American filmmaker, screen writer and a well known director. He directed the
movie to throw light on the rapid progression of lethal airborne virus “Nipah
virus” that is a highly contagious virus that causes severe illness in individuals.

A woman named “Beth Emhoff” return from a business trip to Hong Kong.
She dies from a type of flu. Her young son also dies after some days. Her
husband “Mitch” however becomes immune to the disease although he shows
some symptoms of the disease. In this way the disease spreads rapidly in the
entire population. Slowly the disease spreads through Fomites such as non
living object and kills millions of people. An affected person touches the lift
button (fomite) and a healthy person who also acquires this disease after
touching that button. This entire scenario becomes a heavy burden on the CDC,
doctors and scientists. They start working hard to identify the type of virus.

The whole administration of CDC tries its best to solve this issue or else the
entire population of the world will cease to be.

The

climax in the movie appears when they finally develop a vaccine for
Prophylaxes purpose. In this way the population of people in which disease has
not yet been spread may become immune.
The theme of movie is based on Corona virus which is a zoonotic virus. It is
transferred to humans from animals such as bats and pigs. The bat eats fruits
and it drops fruit in a pig pen. After that pig consumes this fruit. Finally the pig
is slaughtered to become the food of humans. The human become infected and
in this way a chain of transmission begins. All of the people who eat this kinds
of food are more likely to be infected from this deadly pathogenic and
contagious disease.

This virus causes severe illness from common flue to pneumonia and eventually
death.

If we talk about epidemiology then we come to know that this virus has already
affected the number of countries badly.

Corona virus has already been spread in china and it resulted in deaths of
thousands of people. Now it has become pandemic.

Allegory

There may be chances of bioterrorism because people of china have been eating
these creatures from scratch but they never acquired such deadly disease as they
are dealing with it now. Proper inquiry should be done at the international level.
People who invest a lot in vaccines must explain this. Most of the people re of
the view that the virus was spread intentionally to collapse the economy of
richer countries like china. We all know that china has become one of the
richest countries in the world.

This is the best movie for the students of microbiology, biotechnology and
zoology. It can also be of interest of those people who love to study biological
sciences.

Lesson to learn from this movie

There is a lot to learn from this movie and of course it will help us to ward off
several troubles in our lives. First and the foremost duty of ours is to work hard
wholeheartedly with the faith that whatever ALLAH almighty does will be the
best for our future.

“The ‘No’ of the world does not matter when the sound of ‘YES’ is coming
from your soul.”

The second lesson is that we should never give up no matter whatever the
situation is; because difficulties are only applied in your way to make you
stronger and ‘The Best’. Most of the people become dis heart due to trouble that
arise in their way. It is a message for all the them that it is only done to make
you stronger and to polish you. Moreover, hard work takes long to time to
sprout the fruit out of the ground but its effect is everlasting and eternal. We
should not worry about the outcome because all we have to is to work hard and
leave it to Nature. It will help us in warding off all the troubles with ease.

Precautions

Following are the instructions that we should adapt in this sort of pandemic
situation.

 Wear mask while you go outside of you home.

 Avoid shake handing with any person.
 Always sanitize your hands before eating and drinking anything.
