It is a pleasure to write a letter of verification to attest for Ms. Cody B. Elmer general skills and competence. Ms. Elmer has been assigned as a para-professional in an Autism Preschool Program. The Autism Preschool Program provides special education services to preschoolers who have been diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Ms. Elmer has been in this assignment since October 2010 till April 2011. Ms. Elmer has been employed at McKinley Elementary, Stockton Unified School District. She has demonstrated outstanding professional skills and personal qualities. She has worked collaboratively with fellow teachers, administration, outside agency representatives. I have found her to be highly motivated and genuinely excited about her work. Ms. Elmer has experience with the administration of the Brigance Diagnostic Inventory of Early Development and the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills. She participated in weekly ASD staff meetings. Ms. Elmer has worked in the preschool program for 6 months which at minimum is1000 hours of direct service. Ms. Elmer developed Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs designed for each individual student on the spectrum. The ABA program binder was derived from the Work in Progress (WIP) and incorporated discrete trial data. Ms. Elmer participated in the implementation goals, alternative communication devices, and the use of Picture Icons/Visual Scheduling transition system. I feel very fortunate that Ms. Elmer had joined our staff. She has the integrity and dedication to meet the needs of this sensitive population. Her outstanding classroom management and ability to meet the behavioral challenges of her students has proven to be great assets for an autism program. I have found that Ms. Elmer has the ability to manage a variety issues that arise of students with autism. Her dedication to her students is a driving force in her success.
