To Whom It May Concern:

It is a pleasure to write a letter of verification to attest for Ms. Cody B. Elmer general skills and
competence. Ms. Elmer has been assigned as a para-professional in an Autism Preschool
Program. The Autism Preschool Program provides special education services to preschoolers
who have been diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Ms. Elmer has been in
this assignment since October 2010 till April 2011.
Ms. Elmer has been employed at McKinley Elementary, Stockton Unified School District. She
has demonstrated outstanding professional skills and personal qualities. She has worked
collaboratively with fellow teachers, administration, outside agency representatives. I have
found her to be highly motivated and genuinely excited about her work.
Ms. Elmer has experience with the administration of the Brigance Diagnostic Inventory of Early
Development and the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills. She participated in
weekly ASD staff meetings. Ms. Elmer has worked in the preschool program for 6 months which
at minimum is1000 hours of direct service. Ms. Elmer developed Applied Behavior Analysis
(ABA) programs designed for each individual student on the spectrum. The ABA program
binder was derived from the Work in Progress (WIP) and incorporated discrete trial data. Ms.
Elmer participated in the implementation goals, alternative communication devices, and the use
of Picture Icons/Visual Scheduling transition system.
I feel very fortunate that Ms. Elmer had joined our staff. She has the integrity and dedication to
meet the needs of this sensitive population. Her outstanding classroom management and ability
to meet the behavioral challenges of her students has proven to be great assets for an autism
program. I have found that Ms. Elmer has the ability to manage a variety issues that arise of
students with autism. Her dedication to her students is a driving force in her success.
Respectfully,
Ms. Paula Zuniga/S.D.C. Teacher of Autism, M.A./Special Education
