The Expo is designed to educate the health curious, elevate the understanding of the health conscious, and raise
community awareness of the importance of digestive health and overall wellness through the free exchange of
information and resources. Guts & Glory 2014 had an estimated 750 attendees.
Dr. Aparna Mele is a gastroenterologist, nutritional doctor, and the founder and President of My Gut
Instinct, Inc. She started My Gut Instinct to create a unique community event that would inspire the
community to eat and live better. Her vision is to empower the local community with education programs
to support health, wellness, and wellbeing.
Gutsy Girl is our traveling mascot who is making her way through Berks County. She is spreading event
fliers about Guts and Glory Digestive and Wellness Expo. She is available for the public to pose with her
for a picture and we are encouraging the use of #GutsyGirl on social media.
Guts & Glory Expo will feature Coco the Colossal Colon, a 40-foot replica of the human colon. Kids
and adults will be able to crawl through Coco and learn about colon cancer.
