Del Mar Middle School 105 Avenida Miraflores Tiburon, CA 94920 January 16th, 2014 Boys and Girls Club of America National Headquarters 1275 Peachtree Street NE Atlanta, GA 30309 Dear Boys & Girls Club of America, My name is Jack Parsons. I am an eighth grade student at Del Mar Middle School in Tiburon, California. The reason why I am writing this letter because I support your organization in all ways possible. I have a lot of experience with underprivileged children and my heart goes out to them. We both have the same mindset, which is to help others in need, and that is the reason why I am writing to you. I live in the bay area, and I had noticed buildings every now and then that had your logo on them, but I didnt really know much of your story or mission. For all I knew, you had a few facilities that kids would go and use, but I was wrong. After learning more about The Boys and Girls Club, I want to get involved and become a part of your mission. Like I said, in the past, I have worked with underprivileged children and I currently tutor children in Marin City, which is a low-income area. The kids come from all different backgrounds and homes, but they are less fortunate than I am and I love to reach out to them. Boys and Girls Club does the same To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Your mission is right up my alley and I would love to become involved in your program in the future. The Boys and Girls Club is an amazing movement I think, however, I have a few questions to ask. Firstly, How do you reach out to young adults like me who would like to become involved? Second of all, Are there opportunities [like volunteering] for me to become involved? These are just a few questions that I have to ask, but one of my suggestions for the organization is to reach out more and present more opportunities for kids like me. Having kids is having someone that the students can relate to more, even if under different circumstances In conclusion, I would like to thank you for the extent you have gone to make a change for underprivileged children in this country. It means a lot to me and many others that you are doing this. Other nonprofits work for a good cause but The Boys and Girls Club of America stands out upon all others for me. Sincerely, Jack Parsons
