Parts Libraries

OrCAD Capture:
Load Parts Libraries
Before you can run a simulation, you must
load the parts libraries into Capture if they are
not already available.
It is best to load all available libraries as you will
need parts in each one of these libraries by the
time you are done with ECE 2274.

Launch PSpice Student/Capture Student

Go to File/New/Project located on the OrCAD Capture [Session Log] page

In the New Project pop-up window that opens,

enter a name for the project

Select Analog or Mixed A/D

The default directory is fine.

Click Browse, which will open another pop-up

window for you to select directory in which the
project files will be stored.

Select Create a blank project in the

next pop-up window that opens.

Click on Place/Part in SCHEMATICS1 : PAGE1

In the Place Part pop-up

window, click on Add Library.

In the Browse File that then

opens, select all of the .olb
files. Click Open and then close
the Place Parts window.

To select a part, you can click on its name in the Parts List or
type it in the box under Part and then click OK.

All of the parts in all of the libraries

will be in the Parts List.

A list of the libraries you

selected should now appear.
