March 16 James 2:20-26

Just a thought: Faith and deeds are like the two wings of a bird. A bird flying with
two wings is a work of art. A bird flying with one wing is the stupidest thing you
ever saw in your life. The philosopher Soren Kierkegaard tells the parable of the
ducks. The ducks got up one Sunday morning as they did every Sunday morning
and waddled to church. They sat their duck tails in the duck pews and listened to
the duck preacher give the duck sermon: You can fly! You can rise above this
earth and soar to the skies! Fly, ducks, fly! And all the ducks said Amen! (or
quack, whatever). And when they had sang their duck hymns and took their duck
communion, they got up and WADDLED home. People, nothing is sillier than a
walking duck. And nothing is more beautiful than a duck in flight.
