Position Summary: Drug trafficking

The drug problem could be the main global issue. Most of the drug trafficking happened in the Gulf
states, especially in the Arab region. In addition, the rising of drug problems made other countries
focused on these areas. Many of interviews, Television, newspaper, and talk shows were discussing it.
However, they all lack data because most of the information were just only skim the surface. This
makes the problem remained.
Oil wealth and migrant workers are easy to access and using drugs, such as narcotics. In Omen, its
geography is bordering the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Omen, and Persian Gulf. Therefore, the immigration
also increased over 30 percent. These have to aware because Omen is a good place to drug
trafficking. In addition, the high number of drug addiction is mainly in women. Lots of women were
addicted drug from men who they have a relationship with, but luckily that threaten women is much
easier than men.
In Omen, they mostly used medical morphine for a wrong purpose. This also increased the rates of
hepatitis B and C. According to the public health research in 2013, the amount of registered addicts in
Oman risen from 3,651 in 2011 to 4,150 in 2013. Moreover, the number of crimes related to drug used
were increasing from 78 to 688. This makes the government of Oman has to be aware of the drug
problems, especially among young people.
