Participant: Citizen University Conference

Partook in discussions and workshops about community engagement and what it means to be a good
citizen.
Volunteer Coordinator Advisor/Volunteer Coordinator

Huskies for Suicide Prevention and Awareness (HSPA), University of Washington
Part Time: 2-3 hours/week
Founding member for University of Washington Registered Student Organization with the mission to advocate
for mental health awareness and care on UWs campus.
Acting liaison for HSPA and partner volunteer organizations.
Coordinator and facilitator of volunteer orientations, advisor of new officers.
Coordinate an annual walk for 500 participants to promote mental health and community relations.
Raised over $10,000 from the annual walk.

College Persistence Program Assistant

Part Time: 16 hours/week
Interacted daily with a caseload of 130 racially diverse, first-generation, low-income students that attend in-state
private and out-of-state colleges under the supervision of a Master of Social Work supervisor, utilizing a
strengths and person-in-environment framework for my practicum.
Developed program for parent engagement and the College Persistence interventions model.
Produced executive summary of recommendations assessing College Access Nows social justice and cultural
awareness.
Served as a Steering Committee member for an Advocacy Day focused on gaining financial support for low
income students in higher education from legislators in Olympia, and managed organizational outreach for
Advocacy Day participation.
Alternative Spring Break Team Member

Empowered 150 low-income, marginalized indigenous students at an alternative middle and high schools
in Eastern Washington to pursue educational goals through creating collaborative storybooks in small groups.

Mentored first-generation and economically disadvantaged students from diverse Seattle high schools.
Seminar lead, designed, facilitated curriculum and assessed the seminar, Oppression Through Policy. My
privilege and power activity is now implanted program-wide.
Class lead for the Educational Policy lecture. Planned curriculum and co-facilitated weekly lectures for 100-200
mentors. Course equips mentors with knowledge and tools.
Assumed additional leadership positions like Tour Committee Lead for Spring BBQ, a Dare to Dream Event
Volunteer Lead and Docent. Coordinated campus visits for high school students, organizations and donors.
