Improved Practice Based on the Unit of Study
Short-Term Goal
1. Staying on task, making sure I am
staying focused and helping my
students meet their needs. Input from
my Paraprofessional as well as veteran
teachers.
Plan to Reach the Goal (i.e., professional
development, research on the Internet,
observation of a veteran teacher, etc.)
Making sure I show up ready to leave my
baggage at the door. Come ready to teach,
learn and to expand little minds. Getting the
input of my para and see what ideas she has
as well because this is our classroom.

2. Making my lesson plans easier to
follow, making it more simplified and
fun. Register for more training to help
me have a successful classroom.
Be more hands on and there in the moment
of seeing things with them. Listening while
teaching and making them comfortable
enough that they will ask questions and stay
engaged. Using my resources at RESA for
training to help me reach my goal of being a
better teacher.

3. Using the lesson plans from my Start coming up with my own teaching style,
mentor teacher. Trying to get a better something that works for me and my
understanding of what is expected of students. Come up with better ways to make
me. learning fun and exciting.

Long-Term Goals: Teachers who are dedicated to their profession and to improving the lives of
students will continually look for ways to grow and learn. The best way to ensure that learning is
prioritized is to create a long-term goal. Create one long term goal that is specific and
measurable. Make sure to discuss the following:
Long-Term Goal:
Rationale: Why did you choose this goal? How I have chosen these goals because becoming a
do you expect it to improve the outcomes of your great teacher takes time and I must get things
future students? to help me rise to the occasion. This will be
an ongoing process because the rules and laws
may change, or things get added. I must put
the needs of my students first. I will observe
my students and change them out as needed.

However, I want to build that confidence
where they can work independently as much
as possible.
I plan to have 98% of it done before I am
done with my classes Dec 2023. However, I
will stay focused and if things change, I will
adjust myself. The other 2% will be on going
process of learning as times change.
The first step is to take ownership of my
classroom, making sure I meet the needs of
my students and if I can’t be able to send
them to the right people. I will come up with
the best strategies for my students and ways
to make learning great.
The resources my college offers and the
resources that they have given to us to be
successful teachers. My mentor teacher and
other teachers in my circle. The
administrators at my school and the District
RESA offer so many different trainings for
teachers. And me pushing and striving to be a
great teacher, one that my students will
remember when they get older.
