Spring break and spring testing approach, as we spring forward an hour! Greetings, John E. Ford! As always, this year feels as though it is flying by, and naturally we chug on in our pursuit of educational excellence! Important dates on the calendar for your School Counselors in March are in the green menu to the right. As you know, March kicks off the first of many high-stakes tests in which our students will participate and for which you have been working so very hard to prepare them! Please help them remember that they are competent, capable and well equipped for these tests! The same goes for you as well, teachers! Take comfort in the fact that you have done more than your due diligence in preparing these young people! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES and EACH OTHER. Rest and relax, when and where you can. When we become busy and stressed, we tend to eat and sleep more poorly and, therefore, make less time for
exercise. Eating well and
getting in those 30 minutes of cardio a day are SUPER important for a good nights sleep and maintaining a healthy homeostasis! Some healthy habit tips include: DRINK WATER o Avoid sugarsweetened beverages as they tend to cause crashes which slow us down o Hydration may also improve cognitive functioning SNACK ON FRUIT or NUTS o Junk foods, such as potato chips, provide little nutritional value and can therefore leave you feeling tired and hungry again much sooner BREATHE DEEPLY o The benefits of deep breathing are endless - TRY IT especially before bed time or at the beginning of your day
