OBITUARY OF WILLIAM MURPHY

QUEBEC BOY DIED IN FRENCH BATTLEFIELD


November 28, 1915

Private William Murphy reported killed in action November 25. He


entered the service on April 4, and went overseas on May 19.

He was nineteen years of age, and was born in the Eastern part of
Montreal, where his family still resides. Private Murphy recently
graduated from high school and had started working in a factory
that made mattresses. The young hero is survived by his parents,
Jonathan and Martha Murphy; two sisters, Mary, Jean and by three
brothers, Peter, Robert and Philip.
