For those of you didnt get last weeks puzzle the acrostic word you were looking for was "W&nkers".
Everyone was clearly face deep in Easter eggs cause there were zero takers for team picking this week. After being bullied into it, Chris
dragged himself out of bed, fought through a hangover and produce some primary 1 level drawings. Despite the short comings of his art
skills it was still a thoroughly entertaining team announcement. Shockingly no one was quick to complain about the balance of the teams
and it seems like for the first time in ages everyone is relatively happy about their team mates. We had four extremely close games in a row
before last weeks one sided affair. Could we be in line for a repeat this week? The core of the teams are the same from last week and the
stats seem to suggest another mauling but are the stats just smoke and mirrors? A Glitch the matrix?
This weeks away team are the clear statistical favourites. Average wins (6.0 v 4.17) , Win % (50.3% v 44.7%) and appearances (11.83 v
10.33) all in favour of the away team. Blackie, Chris , Luke and Jonny, co-incidentally are all on the same team again this week and it was
clear they had as much chemistry last week together, as a deaf, dumb and blind team. But Luke, Jonny and Chris occupy 1st, joint second
and Joint third respectively in the player ranking table ( see appendix 1a). Was last week a one off or have we found the first anomaly in the
matrix that is the stats?
For the home team do we have another anomaly? Last weeks big winners Stub, Will and Milky all line up alongside each other again
tonight. Surely confidence will be high after superb performances? Milky is on a tremendous lossless streak despite having the worst first
touch and finish anyone has ever seen. How does that work? Will and Stub are equally confusing. Both have been star performers during
the month of March ( see appendix 1b) but sit a lowly 9th and 10th in the rankings due to their extremely poor performances in January
and February. Is the tide changing for these extremely talents individuals?
Team mate analysis ( appendix 2) strengthens the argument for the away team. For them we have Luke. He tops the player stats and
tonight's team mates are partly the reason why. He has very impressive records with each of them, only with Blackie he doesn't have a
positive win ratio but still nothing to worry about (2 wins and 2 draws from 4 games)
For the home team we have Will. Player of the week? Player of the month? Player of the year? The wee man has more talent in his wee toe
( all be it broken) than the rest of us could hope for. So why does he sit so lowly in the player ranks? Why is his record with tonight's team
mates so shocking? Will has lined up with Stub and Kris on 6 occasions this season and has only won with either of them once. Only Gary
H is in the black as a team mate for Will.
Last week we questioned people's desire, bottle and heart. Like every other week each team is going to need these three things to be at
100% if they are to have any chance. This week, god given talent might be the ultimate factor that wins your team the game. Failing that,
the hard line to the matrix is cut, we see two black cats and the stats prove to be smoke and mirrors again.
On a side note , does anyone think its weird I refer to myself in the third person? Answers on a post card please.
