This weeks teams, so aptly illustrated by Luke, look like being the most evenly matched of 2015 so far. Two teams have not been this close
since Helicopter Sunday. With the teams so evenly matched the helicopter might be changing direction on more than one occasion.
There is literarily a "baw hair" between both teams for tonight's game. Both teams look fit and sharp with an average 8.33 appearances and 8.67
appearances respectively this season. Average wins for each team stand at 4.33 and 4.17 from the opening 10 games. That in turn represents a
52.29 % and 53.52 % win percentage for the two sides.
With so little between the teams we need to take a look at potential match winners for both sides, namely, Blackie and Chris. (See appendix 3 for
individual stats on both.) With both teams seemingly going to end up the trenches, stats go out the window. Its all about character, heart and
desire.
Graham, the ultimate enigma? Very few possess the natural ability of this man and on his day, an undoubted match winner. The burning
question for his team mates tonight will be, which blackie will turn up? Some worry not only is he combat ready but is he even combat inclined?
His injury ravaged season has meant little playing time with his team mates tonight (see appendix 1). In fact Graham has only recorded victories
with two of his teams mates, Jonny (two) and Graydon (one). Tonight also marks his debut performance with Spell. Graham started the season
poorly (see appendix 4) with three straight defeats but after a heart felt letter to Jim'll fix it, his fortunes turned around with three dynamic
performances which seen him move to a respectable 42.86% win rate (see appendix 2). It's the latter, that his team mates hope turn up, give
them the edge and lead them out of the trenches and forward to glory.
At the other end of the field trying to lead his team to glory is Chris. He has a slightly better win/loss ratio compared to Graham (see appendix
2) from nine appearances this season. Only a nightmare of a commute stopped him from a 100% appearances record. The stats show a mixed
bag of luck with his team mates recording both wins and losses with most his teams mates. The noticeable highlight is the four victories from
five appearances when playing with Luke. Right now you are probably thinking, but how is Chris a match winner? What you can guarantee from
Chris is a work rate and honesty from the first to the last whistle. What my stats don't show you is Chris's spectacular ability to score screamer
after screamer. Some have likened him to Lord Nicklas Bendtner..... he doesn't score tap ins. No really , he doesn't score tap ins. One minutes
he's Paul Pogba'd one in the top bin, the next, he's fluffed one from three yards. His teams mates are hoping he picks up the shooting boots
before setting off tonight.
Unquestionably, every one of the twelve men on show tonight is a natural born winner. Each with the hunger and desire to get one over his
mate so after the match he can slag him rotten. It also happens to be an immutable law of sport that serial winners often make for the worst of
losers. With so little between the teams and so much on the line, who will walk off the park like a greetin' face wean?
A very stupid man once said " life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your going to get." Well, the chocolates tonight can be either
Lindt or Lidl. To a man we must all ask ourselves what chocolate am I?
