Food + drink

Very important items to Luca, so top of the list.

Unfortunately, our youngster is on a diet. He has to
watch the scales because of his age and posture.
So
every day he gets:
o Each morning 1 portion /a spoonful dog food;
o In the afternoon, after getting home from his long walk,
he gets a piece of bread, which he prefers to eat in the
garden;
o In the evening at 17.00 another spoonful of dog food;
o All the time there has to be fresh water available in his bowl.

Walks + talks
o

Not allowed to eat anything else because of a sensitive stomach

They know youre taking care of him; theyll charge us for any visits etc.
If there is any doubt, just phone them or go there. They speak English.

Important: he is not allowed to eat anything lying about. He

loves to try that so keep an eye open! If he happens to take
hold of something, address him firmly with the command:
LOS ; he will drop whatever he took and is a good boy;

He goes for a walk about 4 times a day. Please accompany him:

o In the morning short walk to the end of the street, just
watering the trees; he stays on the lease then, mostly
the black cassette-lease;
o Once a day a proper walk to park or woods round about
13.00 hour. When in the park or woods he can run free;
o Round about 18.00 in the evening he does another walk
to the end of the street to water the trees;
o Before going to sleep we take him across the street
where he tries to water the trains; he usually wont want
a walk then.
WACHT (meaning: wait) is the command at the edge of the
kerb; he has to wait until you say he can go on. Also when you
put his food in front of him he has to wait until you say he can
take it;
ZACHTJES (meaning: softly) when you give him his piece of
bread or a dog biscuit (he can have those sparsely) so he takes
it gently without eating your fingers as well;
AF (meaning: down) is used to make him lie down. You can
support the command by making a gesture pointing down;
ZIT (meaning: sit) is used to make him right!
HOOG (meaning: up) is used to make him stand on his backpawns putting his front-pawns on your chest or shoulder;
UIT DE KEUKEN (meaning: get/stay out of the kitchen). He
knows hes not allowed in the kitchen while your preparing food
or cooking;
NIET BIJ DE TAFEL (meaning: not at the table). He also
knows hes not allowed near the table when people are eating/
having diner there. Otherwise there might suddenly be a big
dog head on your plate.
JIJ BLIJFT HIER (meaning: youre staying here). This is a bad
moment for him. He loves coming with you, so this command
makes him shuffle disappointedly to his cushion;
FOEI (meaning: shame on you!) this is his worst moment,
when you say that. So only to be used when he really needs to
be corrected.
