BEHAVIOR

Morphy is the alpha and is more active. He’ll chirp at the door and the windows when he sees other dogs and birds
often needs things to keep him stimulated. He takes pride in grooming and will do a great job cleaning unlike his
brother. He likes a lot of attention especially after waking up from his cat nap and will jump on top of you while
you’re sleeping.

Neo lives to eat, so he’ll tend to wait on top of the couch an hour or two before the food drops in the
feeders. Neo was the runt of his litter and doesn’t quite know when to stop eating. Since Morphy knows when to
stop and may have food left over sometimes, Neo takes pleasure in finishing the rest. Neo is like a spy cat, so I’d
like to think he’s equivalent to Ethan Hunt from Mission: Impossible as he’ll manage to get into places that’s not
easily attainable as he can jump over 50 inches high and balance himself on thin wire.

Morphy and Neo generally enjoy people’s company and like to be petted a lot. Neo likes to be babied and
cuddled while Morphy enjoys the attention in small doses and will leave and come back. If Morphy’s
overstimulated or doesn’t want the attention you’re giving him, he’ll slightly bite you. But he’ll also bite you when
you’re not giving him any attention. Both cats will make high pitched whining noises when they don’t get what
they want. They both like to play in the morning or evening after they eat larger meals by either chasing each
other, wrestling, playing w/ hair ties, pipe cleaner worms and etc. They know to be quiet when people are sleeping
and might try to be sneaky when roaming around the house. Morphy is more receptive to interactive play with toy
wands and hiding behind walls and pouncing on prey or when you sling shot hair ties for him to catch and bring
back while Neo is more receptive to laser pointers but also loves toy wands as well.

When the cats think they’re in trouble, they’ll often rush to one of their beds and act innocent or they’ll
do the following if they know we’re angry and are in big trouble: Neo will run away to the cat tower to hide

1
because he knows he’s not easily accessible there while Morphy will gracefully bow down and just go to the cat
cage and sit. As a time out, the cats will get locked in their cage temporarily, sometimes overnight to be able to
have peace and quiet while sleeping.

Morphy suffers as a pica addict, so he likes to eat any type of foreign material like small pieces of plastic,
wool, cotton, lint and hair. Pica sometimes causes digestive issues when Morphy’s using the litterbox and he might
make noises when he poops, his stools might look different and hair will get stuck to his butt. He might need some
assistance with cleaning up and as a prideful cat, he’s too stubborn to ask for any type of help.

Neo is more mischievous and determined than Morphy and will often do things he knows not to be doing
when you’re not looking such as jumping on the counters. He can be quickly tempted to jump on the counters
when there’s food present and will eat it and will even find his way to get into the packaging.

CAT ROUTINE

Both cats will dig in the cardboard box under the desk for toys to play with and sleep regularly in the morning
around 8:30a after a full belly and burning it off. They can sleep until it’s lunchtime and shortly after, they’ll groom
and go back to snoozing. When someone’s home, the cats like to sleep somewhere nearby to feel safe. When the
house is vacant, they tend to sleep anywhere but Morphy has the tendency to sleep near the front door so can be
the first to greet you. Throughout the day, the cats will watch “Cat TV” by looking out the windows and will likely
keep themselves occupied longer when the windows are open versus when they’re closed.

PREVENTIVE CARE

Because of the cats temptations, the house is kept tidied and is regularly vacuumed and cleaned. Dishes are
regularly washed after being used and not piled up in the sink and scat mats are placed at the edge of the counters
to prevent Neo from being tempted to jump. It’s best to keep any type of bags with small objects off of the ground
and away from the cats reach. The bathroom and bedroom doors are normally kept closed while unsupervised to
avoid the cats from getting into any type of trouble and swallowing things they shouldn’t. Since Neo doesn’t groom
himself well, he has to be brushed and wiped down everyday while Morphy doesn’t need it quite as much.

LITTERBOX CLEANING

One litterbox is shared by both cats and sits upstairs in the cat cage. It’s normally cleaned daily at night prior to
going to bed. The cats use Naturally Fresh Walnut litter – Alpine Meadow Scented but we’ve learned that they’re
very adaptable to using any kind of litter as long as it’s a clean litterbox. The walnut litter can be quite dusty but
can be flushed down the upstairs toilet with the scooper nearby. The cat cage usually has the bottom door kept
shut intentionally to reduce the excess litter from leaving a mess on the floor. The cats know how to enter and exit
the cage by jumping through the top entry on/off the shelves.
