Get to Know Cindy Fitts

indy Fitts is a Kindergarten aid at Mountain View Elementary. She is an aid for Amanda Coleman.
Cindy has been an aid in Kindergarten for nine years. Cindy says that
her favorite part about her job is the kids! She loves seeing their
faces light up when they learn something new! When asked what her
least favorite part of her job was she answered, The paperwork! Lots
of programs implemented that seem to contradict each other. Not
enough time in the day to paint and be five years old. Cindy was
asked about her thoughts on Common Core. Common Core is a tough
one in K5, she feels the kids are expected to work at a higher level
than their maturity. Cindy shared with us some advice she would
give to anyone that would want to be a teacher. She said, Do it!
These kids need positive influences in their lives! She feels that,
Home lives are getting worse and teachers can (should) be a safe
place.

Who is Courtney Hipp?

ourtney Hipp is a freshman student at North Greenville University. Courtney is an Elementary

Education major and she is also adding on Early Childhood so she can be certified Kindergarten through
fifth grade. Courtney is from Greer, South Carolina. She went to
elementary school at Mountain View Elementary and told us that
she hopes to be able to teach second grade there once she
graduates from North Greenville. When asked why she wanted to
be a teacher she told us, I love working with kids! I want to be
able to make a positive influence in someones life. Courtney
shared with us that she always knew she wanted to be a teacher
ever since she was in the first grade. Courtney says that she
cannot wait to have her own classroom and impacting children's
lives.
