one word not only has the origin meaning or one meaning, in the reading
passage tells about the polysemic words whose different meaning by how we put
the word on another word or combine them with the other words. For example
sound, it means noise as a noun, it can means the condition of health ( sound
mind) as an adjective, and can be as a intransitive verb, a transitive verb, a verb
phrase, and an inquiry. Sound have 19 meanings in total, It sounds that
sound is cool to have many meanings but there are another words that have
more meaning than sound like set which is have over 120 meanings in total.
In the listening passage, polysemy words explained not only have different
meanings but can have opposite meanings too, for example bolt, fast, and
sanction. We can call it as a special polysemy word for this condition. Bolt
can mean as locked or not moving if we put bolt on door and the opposite
meaning is moving quickly.
