Was Mohenjodaro a Civilization or

Not?
Characteristics

Explanation

Government

Mohenjodaro had a
sophisticated government. I
know because they needed to
keep 30000 people alive. We
are not sure how they ruled
themselves but a possibility is
a king. The sculpture is a priest
king.
Mohenjodaros religion wasnt
the best. They would go to a
great bath as a ritual. They
would pray for good harvest.
Later on, the great bath
became the first ever
swimming pool. The picture on
the left is the great bath that
they would go in.
Scientist are not sure if
Mohenjodaro had any social
classes. Poor people lived in
smaller houses. Rich people
lived in larger ones. People say
the social structure was
divided into wealthy and
skilled workers. The picture on
the left is alley for homes.
Mohenjodaro was successful in
its sewer systems. The sewer
system provided plumbing and
bathrooms for poor and rich.
The picture on the left is the
sewer system that can be seen
in the citys ruins.

Stable Food Supply

The stable food supply

contained wheat, barley,
millet, fruit, and vegetables.
They also caught fish. The
picture on the left is wheat and
it represents what one of their
stable food supplies was.

Art

Mohenjodaro made sculptures,

clay models, seals, and beaded
items. They used them for
different things. They used
seals to keep away evil spirits.
Beaded items were for jewelry.
Clay models were for kids.
Sculptures were to see the
past. The picture to the left is a
seal that the people in
Mohenjodaro made.
Mohenjodaros writing was in
logophonetic. The writing was
used from 2500 bc to 1900 bc.
They put the writings on
walls/rough surfaces. The
writing was in hieroglyphic
form. The picture on the left is
a seal with logophonetic on it.
