Hoffmann who use these geometric shapes in their style of art

Content Describe in a paragraph. You can also add an outline.

Teaching students to use technology to create an original piece of artwork using geometric shapes influenced by the
artists studied thus far. Students will incorporate principles of design such as balance, symmetry, unbalanced, abstract
and impressionistic. For this lesson students will be implementing balance, symmetry and unbalanced. Then students
will present their work and be part of the critiquing process.

List the objectives for this lesson. They should include what the students will learn from your
instruction
Students will identify the various principles of design to be incorporated into their own artwork.
Students will demonstrate how to create a geometric design using technology artsology.com
Students will share work by using presentation skills learned in prior lessons.

How will you teach the content? Details help. Include the game(s), what do you do before the
games and how do you follow-up.
Lesson starts with a presentation of examples of geometric design by artist such as Piet Mondrian and Hans
Hoffmann this would be the schema activator
Show examples of artwork from students using artsology.com
The use of scrap paper and colored pencils will be used for students to use to layout their design prior to using the
computerbased activity for their design.
Students will create screen shots of their creations to use for their presentations at the end of lesson. They will
leave their original designs on the screen so everyone can see the live active creation.
A rubric will be used as a follow up.

Additional materials you will use and how will you use them.
Scrap paper and colored pencils for students to layout ideas.
White board and pointer for students to use to help with their presentations.

Evaluation Strategies
