    Calorie Definition
    Calorie is the quantity of required heat at one atmosphere pressure that is needed to
    increase the temperature by one degree Celsius in one gram of water. Its also known as small
    calorie or gram calorie. Ever since 1925 calorie is defined in terms of joules, meaning that one
    calorie is equivalent to roughly 4.2 joules. In the domain of nutrition its proposed that the unit
    kilojoule should not be used and it should be replaced with kilocalorie for relating to the energy
    value of foods.
