am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Alison Lord who is an elementary
teacher-candidate in the Institute for Urban Education at the University of Utah I have had
the opportunity of working directly with Alison as her University Supervisor during her field
practicum and fulltime teaching this last year of her licensure program,
Alison has shown teal growth as a teaches. During instructional time she demonstrates @
distinguished level of proficiency. From the onset, she set clear goals and learning,
procedures making it possible to move effortlessly into new content. She does an excellent
job of scaffolding new skis with past experienices while catching the students’ attention and
engaging them in the process so that they are excited and involved.
Alison sets cleat, consistent academic, procedural, and behavioral standards for her students.
She creates a strong environment for learning. Her students are treated with complete
faigness and she shows them she cares. She makes learning fun and gives her students a
voice, but also sets clear expectations. It becomes quickly obvious students know what is
espected and do not need to challenge her for definition. Alison is respectful of stuclents
but also confident in clearly stating what is appropriate and addresses any issues that may
asise, Her students are supportive of one another and of her as well.
Alison has shown to be a true professional. She works well with others and takes on new
challenges in her grade level. She has demonstrated a sincere attitude of caring and support
forall those she works within the school and her college peets. Having her as a patt of any
faculty will be a wonderful opportunity for all she works with. [ am delighted to recommend
her as a teacher. Please contact me at 801-587-7995 for further information.
