Objectives: Students will


1. Dribble the basketball.

Materials: Basketballs, cones.

Have the students play Simon Says as a way to get their body and mind
working (5 min).
Teach basic dribbling skills (5 min).
Engagement: practice dribbling, dribbling through obstacle course for relay
race (15 min).
Teach chest pass and bounce pass (10 min).
Engagement: work on passing in pairs, sliding circle (one student in middle
the circle slides around him as he hits each one with a chest pass, when he
has passed to everyone in the circle he becomes part of the circle and
another student rotates into the middle) (10 min).
Closer/Evaluation: Play a game called follows the leader in which students
have to maintain their dribble while mimicking my movement side to side
and back and forth. The activity forces students to look up while dribbling.
