Personal Statement

The following document should be considered my personal mission statement with regard to
my educational goals. As I near my completion of the BSW program with Wayne State I have
amassed a working knowledge of the necessary skills to enter the field of social work. My
intentions are to continue my education while employed in the massive field of social work. Once
my formal education is completed I hope to return to my reservation and function as a social
service provider to my community. I feel that the extensive education I have and will receive from
Wayne State affords me the ability to accomplish such a task.
The knowledge I have obtained in the BSW program has not only enriched my professional
life but my personal life as well. It is sure to service me well as I venture forward. Possessing an in
depth knowledge of social work practice behaviors base on CSWE standards in addition to the
reinforcement of NASWs code of ethics has prepared me to become an effective change agent.
