Grading

20% homework
30% Midterm
50% Final
The grades for homework and exams will be managed using MyUCLA.
It is not possible to give makeup exams. The midterm can only be missed
with a valid medical excuse signed by an M.D. Consult the instructor immediately
if you miss the midterm. You cannot miss the final (by Academic senate policy).
Exams are closed-book.

How to do well

Spending substantial amount of time on homwork problems is critical.


You can work together, but I would suggest to try the problems by
yourself first.
Copying the homework by somebody else is academic dishonesty
and a sure way of bombing the exams.
Dont fall behind and keep up with homework and lectures.
If you have problems consult the instructor or the TA.
